Terms of Service

Who we are
Howard Resource Group is a limited liability company based in Dawsonville, Georgia. We offer PC repair, custom computer builds, and remote tech support. By using our website or requesting our services, you agree to these terms.
Services
We provide managed IT services and business IT support, PC repair, hardware upgrades, virus removal, data recovery, OS reinstalls, remote support, and website design. Custom PC builds remain available to existing clients and by request. Prices listed on the site are estimates; final pricing is confirmed before any work begins. We will never charge you for work you didn't authorize.
For custom builds, a deposit may be required before parts are ordered. The deposit amount will be communicated clearly upfront and applied toward the final total.
Estimates and quotes
There's no charge to book, and nothing is collected up front — the $24.99 diagnostic is billed at the end, along with any repair work. If we find the fix and you approve it, the $24.99 is credited toward your repair bill, so you pay only the difference. If we cannot diagnose or fix the issue, the diagnostic fee is waived entirely — you pay nothing. If we provide a repair quote and you choose not to proceed, the $24.99 stands — it covers the diagnostic time.
For data recovery, if we cannot recover your data, you owe nothing. We will always tell you honestly what we can and cannot recover before you commit.
Your device and data
You are responsible for backing up your data before bringing a device in for service. While we take care to protect your data and include a backup step for OS reinstalls, we are not liable for data loss that occurs during repair or recovery work on a device with a pre-existing hardware or software failure.
We will not access, copy, share, or retain any of your personal files beyond what is necessary to perform the requested service.
Remote support sessions
Remote sessions are conducted via screen-sharing software with your full knowledge and consent. You may end the session at any time. We only access what is necessary to resolve your issue and do not retain remote access credentials after the session ends.
Managed IT services
Managed IT is provided under a separate written service agreement with each client. That agreement defines the covered users, devices, locations and services, and it governs wherever it differs from these general terms. What follows describes how the service works in outline; it does not replace that agreement.
Monitoring and remote access
Managed IT requires management software installed on covered devices. It reports operational information — device health, patch and update status, security alerts, backup job results and similar telemetry — so that problems can be identified and resolved. It is not used to read personal files, monitor employee productivity, or record screen activity outside a support session you are aware of. Administrative remote access is used to deliver the service and is logged.
What you are responsible for
Providing accurate information about your environment, holding valid licences for the software you ask us to manage, telling us when devices, staff or locations are added or removed, and maintaining the physical security of your premises and equipment. Charges are based on the users, servers, network devices and locations under management, so changes to those affect your monthly total.
Backups
Where backup monitoring is included, we verify that backup jobs are running and alert on failures. Monitoring a backup is not the same as guaranteeing that any particular file or system can be recovered. Recovery outcomes depend on the backup product, the retention configured, and the nature of the failure. Backup and disaster-recovery commitments, if any, are set out in your service agreement.
Security
We apply layered protection, keep systems patched and monitor for alerts. No provider can guarantee that a system will never be compromised or that downtime will never occur, and we do not make that claim. What we commit to is the work described in your agreement, and honest communication when something goes wrong.
Term, billing and cancellation
Managed IT plans are billed monthly in advance. Plans are normally provided under a written service agreement with a fixed term of one or three years. A fixed term renews automatically for another term of the same length unless either party gives written notice at least 30 days before the term ends. Month-to-month service is available where agreed in writing and may be ended by the client with 60 days’ written notice. We may change plan rates, including during a fixed term, by giving at least 30 days’ written notice; separately, charges change as users, servers, network devices or locations are added or removed. Any amount owed if a fixed term is ended early is set out in your service agreement, and where your service agreement differs from this summary, the agreement governs. On termination we will provide reasonable assistance in handing over documentation and administrative access, and will remove our management software from your devices.
Regulated environments
For clients handling protected health information or other regulated data, a Business Associate Agreement or equivalent is executed separately before that data is handled. Compliance support is an add-on service and does not by itself make your organisation compliant — it supports the controls and documentation you are responsible for maintaining.
Custom PC builds
Custom builds are no longer a publicly marketed service. They remain available to existing clients and by request, and the build terms below continue to apply to any build we have supplied or agree to supply. Warranty coverage on previously delivered builds is unaffected — the full build warranty and policies remain published.
Warranty
Repairs
If an issue we repaired returns within 30 days due to the same root cause, we will re-examine and resolve it at no additional charge. This warranty does not cover new issues, physical damage that occurs after service, or problems caused by third-party software, user error, or power events (surges, outages).
Custom Builds
Every custom PC build from Howard Resource Group includes a 1-year labor warranty covering defects in assembly, cable management, and configuration. If a component fails within 1 year, we will facilitate the manufacturer warranty claim and reinstall the replacement part at no labor charge.
Component warranties vary by manufacturer — most CPUs, GPUs, and motherboards carry a 2–3 year manufacturer warranty. We document every part used in your build and can provide this information upon request.
What the warranty does not cover
- Physical damage after delivery (drops, spills, mishandling)
- Damage from power surges, overclocking, or unauthorized modifications
- Normal wear and fan degradation over time
- Software issues, Windows corruption, or virus infection after delivery
- Components purchased and supplied by the client
PC Marketplace listings
Howard Resource Group acts as a facilitator between seller and buyer. Used PCs sold through our marketplace carry no implied warranty from Howard Resource. Sellers are responsible for accurate disclosure of condition. The $19.99 listing fee is non-refundable but is credited back if the system does not sell within 60 days.
