Windows 10 has reached the end of its support life, which means no more security updates. Moving to Windows 11 matters — but not every machine qualifies. Here's how to check.
How to check in two minutes
Download Microsoft's free PC Health Check app, open it, and click "Check now" under Windows 11. It tells you instantly whether your machine is compatible and, if not, exactly why.
The usual sticking point: TPM 2.0
Most PCs that fail the check are missing TPM 2.0 or have it switched off in the BIOS. On a lot of machines it's actually present but disabled — turning it on makes them eligible. That's a quick fix.
If your PC qualifies
Back up your files first (see our backup guide), then run the upgrade. It keeps your files and apps in place, but a clean install often runs better on older hardware.
If it doesn't qualify
You have three honest options: keep using Windows 10 (understanding it's no longer getting security updates), have someone enable TPM or upgrade the parts that are holding it back, or move to a newer machine. Which one makes sense depends on the age of the PC.
We can check eligibility, enable TPM, and do a clean Windows 11 install and setup for $49.99 — everything reinstalled, your files moved over, nothing missing.
